Greetings! ILC will be sending out one prompt, like this, each month.

Our intent with these is to keep you familiar on how the components within your Health & Safety Program* work together. We feel that this light activity will be of value to you & your organization. Each eModule prompt will have two questions, one general administrative and one technical. Pretend that we are OSHA or a new employee & see if you can answer the question(s) that applies to your organization; the questions will vary in complexity from month to month. Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

* These prompts use ILC’s eModule version 8.0 as a visual example, however, any version or variation of the Safety Manual will do, even if you use a 3-ring binder system. It is still important to know how to answer the questions.

Here is This Month's Health & Safety eModule Challenge Question(s)...

Administrative Challenge Question:

Safety surveys of work sites should be performed throughout the year on a periodic basis to determine potential hazards which may be encountered in the normal course of operations. Inspections may be conducted by the Safety Program Coordinator, insurance representatives, outside consultants, or other appropriate, concerned parties. May is a good time to review your worksite inspection plan and store those prior safety inspections & photo reports (internally conducted or third party) in the appropriate recordkeeping folder. Can you locate the 2017 Workplan and proper recordkeeping file location in your eSystem?*

*Hint: The Workplan is the fourth drawer of the file cabinet arrangement in the eSystem, for filing these reports-there are three locations within the AWAIR section of the recordkeeping file.

Tutorial Challenge Question:

Based on good industry practice, results of the work area jobsite inspections need to be provided by the inspector or inspection team (e.g. employee safety committee, third party evaluator) to the Safety Program Coordinator, director, etc. reviewed and then forwarded with recommendations to the Foremen (for items pertaining to behaviors) and area Safety Program Coordinator (for items pertaining to conditions). Once items are reported corrective action needs to occur. The Safety Program Coordinator(s) and the Foremen will need to be responsible for taking corrective action. As an exercise, verify this has been performed recently. Once these actions are completed, where is a good place to document and store this information within your eSystem?**

**Hint: Look within your recordkeeping file drawer for storing these reports-there are three locations within the AWAIR section of the recordkeeping file. A date completed indicator is on all photo inspection reports completed by ILC and this approach can also be used by inspections internally conducted.
